Mechanical Workshop

Full mechanical repair and rebuild of motors, generators and rotating equipment, delivered with the precision and capacity to keep industry turning.

Mechanical Workshop

DELBA’s mechanical workshop can handle turning, milling, boring, grinding, fitting, balancing, fabrication, testing all on our own site, alongside the winding shop, which means a single team is accountable for the machine from strip-down to load test — and DELBA controls the schedule.

The workshop has been built up deliberately over decades. A dedicated fan and pump workshop with a pump performance testing station was established in 1988. A fully equipped machine shop, a 900 HP eddy current dynamometer and new cranes followed in the 2000s expansion. In 2006 DELBA became the first SKF Certified

One roof, one supplier

machining, fabrication, fitting, balancing, testing and finishing on a single site, with one job number and one accountable team.

Machinists who understand rotating machines

we work to the fits and tolerances a machine actually needs, not just to a dimension on a page.

SKF Certified Rebuilder

the first in South Africa, with audited procedures for bearing handling, fitting, lubrication and failure analysis.

Reverse engineering capability

no drawing, no OEM support and no lead time is not a dead end here.

Proved before dispatch

machines are loaded and tested on a 900 HP eddy current dynamometer before dispatch.

Sixty years experience

founded in 1963, privately held, and still repairing machines older than most of the people who operate them.

For more than sixty years, Delba Electrical has built its reputation on a single promise: that a machine leaving our workshop performs better and lasts longer than it did before it arrived.
